Sorry! I’ve Been Swamped!
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007Sorry I haven’t posted for a while! Our Harvestfest is in full swing, with the rest of the week and one more weekend to go. Our progressive sale is whittling down the clearance inventory, and the scrapbook shop is going fast.
We had the pleasure of having Jerry Ayers with us last Saturday. He is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s fastest pumpkin carver. He carved pumpkins for us on Saturday afternoon, and we auctioned them off to benefit the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. He was fascinating to watch, as is obvious from the pictures Bob took of kids glued to their seats as he worked!
We also had face painting (Thanks, Lynn Sweeney!) and a kids activity, as well as free hot dogs and pop.
Then on Sunday, we were entertained by the Colerain Connection, with their unique blend of folk and Celtic music, as we enjoyed Lynn’s homemade bean soup and corn bread. The weather was sunny and pleasant, and everyone had a great time!
Written by Lynn on the slope of Teasel Hill, where I wish it would just rain already!
