Sorry I haven’t posted for a while! Our Harvestfest is in full swing, with the rest of the week and one more weekend to go.  Our progressive sale is whittling down the clearance inventory, and the scrapbook shop is going fast. 

We had the pleasure of having Jerry Ayers with us last Saturday.  He is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s fastest pumpkin carver.  He carved pumpkins for us on Saturday afternoon, and we auctioned them off to benefit the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  He was fascinating to watch, as is obvious from the pictures Bob took of kids glued to their seats as he worked!

We also had face painting (Thanks, Lynn Sweeney!) and a kids activity, as well as free hot dogs and pop.

Then on Sunday, we were entertained by the Colerain Connection, with their unique blend of folk and Celtic music, as we enjoyed Lynn’s homemade bean soup and corn bread.  The weather was sunny and pleasant, and everyone had a great time!

Well, we have decided that our Scrapbook Shop will cease to be at the end of September.  I guess the scrapbooking hobby that is so popular in other areas of the country is not that popular here.  I have been a scrapper since my first grandson was born (he’ll be seven next week) and the lack of supplies in the area always frustrated me.  So we added a srapping department to the gift shop, and then last year expanded it to its own space where we could hold classes.  A loyal group came to the scrapbook and card making classes, but the sales were not what we needed to support the space.

So, all the supplies are on sale this month for 50% off.  Nothing is being held back!  So, for a few more weeks, you can bag a bargain and add to your stash.  All sales are final, of course, since this is a clearance sale.  And once the month is done, the sale is done, so shop now for the best selection!
