Brrrr!

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

I got up this morning and put on my work-in-the-garden clothes, and then stuck my head out the door  to see what the weather was like. Brrr! It’s cold!  Maybe this will be a work-in-the-house day off.

Be sure to stop in this weekend for Herb Fest.  We’ve put together some special herb combo pots that we think you will like.  Container gardening at its best. And we’ll have some sampling going on in the gift shop.  Now if it will only warm up!

Trends 7 and 8 Seem Contradictory

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Trend number 7, “Info Lust” and number 8, “Quick and Simple,” seem to be contradictory.  On the one hand people are looking for more and more information about gardening, outdoor decorating and cooking.  Classes are filled with people wanting to learn to be better gardeners, better cooks, better at landscape design.  Garden magazines are wildly popular, and the internet buzzes with questions and answers between friends as well as from garden experts.

But, on the other hand, people are trying to save time in the garden, by planting in smaller spaces and even containers.

This all leads me to believe that there are as many styles of gardening as there are gardeners.  Some want to get back to nature, learn how to be more in touch with the earth, while others want the results of gardening (whether fresh veggies or the colorful plants) without too much work.

Which gardener are you?  Learn to do it yourself, or get it done as quickly as possible?  We can help you become the gardener you want to be and to have the garden you want to have.  GIY or DIY or quick and easy– we have answers for each of you.  Come in and talk with one of our experts about what you want to accomplish.
